Inside Anderson Coopér's New Penthouse, A FreakSpeakers Exclusive!

PLEASE FOLLOW THE LINK FOR UPDATED INFO
HERE

I know I haven't been around for awhile, but to make it up to you all and to welcome back Courtney I'm bringing you the highly expected and imagined images of Anderson Cooper's new penthouse, AND WHAT A PENTHOUSE! From a single loft it ended up as a triplex, his own oasis to disconnect from it all. I wouldn't need to go anywhere if I lived there... even little Molly has her green pad... no more dog walking! So enjoy and have a great weekend!

This is the architectural rendering of the construction addition. The terraces are to die for and must have a view to kill! Unfortunately the photos are not very good and I won't post them, but this give you a good idea of his very own heaven.

The Media Room, Anderson is not over with his sharks obsession... He must have the exact time code from that frame, because it is the same from the old photo spread. I just LOVE the wall treatment... and I could bet those units are Roche Bobois... that plasma is huge, I wouldn't want to watch Tiara Girls on that!

Master Bedroom View A, a William Wegman original photograph presides the main wall. Notice the sexy glass wall that divides the shower from the sleeping area.
The Master Bedroom View B, notice Wyatt Cooper's portrait and the Wood Bench and NO TV! Love the gas fireplace.

The kitchen, Italian design with an ash wood finish.

This is the guest room, very sterile and hotel like... in order for them to not overstay? Even the Mac is white... it needs a splash of color!

Welcome back Chris! and WHAT a comeback!

OMG!!!! the apartment IS GORGEOUS! I hope he will enjoy it for many years. God knows he deserves it.

that shower!
running to the naughty chair

Anonymous said...

Imagined views, right? Not actual?
If imagined we ought to decorate it for him....

BTW, where is the picture of his mother that used to hang over the guest bed? (Maybe to discourage certain activities?? - ok I'll go sit in the naughty chair)....

Sharla I agree the whole place looks very uncomfortable to me. It looks like a showplace and not a home. Then again he doesn't seem to spend a lot of time in the city so it might be just perfect for him.

What happened to all his beloved travel artifacts, I can't believe he'd put them in storage.

To me it screams: I NEED COLOR.

Anonymous said...

It looks photoshopped to me.

How did you find these pictures anyway?

Anonymous said...

I agree with you sharla dawn, I don't like it either! Where is the colour?!! You're right- WHITE WHITE WHITE; it hurts my eyes!(especially the guest room)

Anonymous said...

It's an insane asylum.

I can't imagine going to the bathroom in a glass room it's a little too open for my taste.

Lori Archibald said...

I don't like it either. It doesn't really give off a very welcoming vibe.

Not my favorite look for decorating but hey... to each his own.

Anonymous said...

White on white on white---Andy could disappear in there and nobody would be able to find him.

It's just too sterile. What I think it needs is a few animal heads mounted to the walls. Maybe a buffalo, or a nice moose, or even a savage wild boar would add some definition.

Anonymous said...

Guess no one caught where the original post said "imagined images," huh? This means the photos aren't real.

Anonymous said...

here we go! getting things out of context anon? Many of us expected, speculated and imagined the apartment so get the thing right!
and re read the post Chris said the FIRST ONE IS A RENDERING, but do you know what a rendering is? if not here you have it:

Main Entry: 1ren·der
1 to reproduce or represent by artistic or verbal means

From the Merriam Webster diccionary

Anonymous said...

It matches his hair.

Anonymous said...

@ Christiane, is it possible for you to post the other pictures, it dosen't matter if they are poor quality, I want't to see the terarces...Please?

Anonymous said...

Okay I think I need to be hit in the head to understand this.

Are you saying none of these pictures are real? That this is just someones imagination? Just say yes or no to imagination

marie said...

white vs. black

I would have chosen black, it looks more elegant than white.

Anonymous said...

the first one(terrace and exteriors) as Chris wrote IS a drawing (rendering), the others are actual pictures from the interiors

Anonymous said...

@anon 11:58: You are not alone...I too need to be hit on the head. I must be a real dumbshit, because I still don't get it. Are these pics really Andy's pad? Or just "imagined images"?

Anonymous said...

the top one is an imagined image and the rest of them are real pics taken by the architect when they were done designing his place.

Anonymous said...

Christianne thanks for the pictures!

Dear Anderphiles:

Earlier in the year there was an anonymous post that said,"The New York article back in 2005 that he did in NYC/NOLA still is for me the best interview Anderson ever gave, it was revealing and sad."

Does anyone know which specific publication and date they were talking about? I am trying to see if I can find the article.

Thanks.

Anonymous said...

@ anon 1:24 am:

The Anderson interview you're looking for is in the September 2005 New York Metro magazine. It's a great interview and it is a little on the sad side. Here's a link, hope it works for you.

Michael Zenreich is the architect and has a lot of experience under his belt.

As usual, he did a great job on Anderson's place.

Anonymous said...

OK, I have a question, and it may very well be a dumb one, but is the entire apartment divided by the glass doors? I would probably die of paranoia, it dosen't seem to be very private. Dont't get me wrong I thinks it looks great, it's just every thing seems transaparent to me...

Anonymous said...

That shower is VERY sexy.

Anonymous said...

Oh and who wouldn't want to cozy up on that long couch with AC and watch the big screen tv! I like this place, it's sophisticated, sleek and chic, like AC himself.

I think this abode is going to be so (yawn) 2007 by 2008. IMO there is nothing classic or classy about the decorating of the place. It's neither comfortable or dressy; the place isn't majestic or beautiful. It looks like too many sterile, staid new age offices decorated on a whim. I've always pictured AC's place having classic and "rich" interiors, not nuevo riche modern with a splash of don't get too comfortable around here. I can not imagine a pet being comfortable in this place much less a human being. The interiors also scream NO comfort for kids, too.

That's right, Sharla. Your tent idea of an investment for him is on target with the decorations in this place. Seriously, I don't get it. It's as though the food fetish of scrambled egg whites 3xper day has spilled off to his decorating. There's a sense of comfort in good food, esp. when you add social to the menu. Same for ones home. Stark white, sharp edges, cold & sharp materials with sharp edges is anything but inviting. Even the beds are unappealing. Makes me want to say no thanks, I think I'll stand...Nothing warm and cozy about that place. As for sexy??? The furniture and decorations are not!

To Anon 4:13 Michael Zenreich WAS NOT the architect.

to all: the photos only show four places within a triplex apartment, we don't know how the rest of the living place is, probably the glass was the best decision for the last story (the structural addition) due to weight and support of the entire building.
Lofts are boxes, and you have to max out your natural lights sources and ventilation.

Anonymous said...

OK, so the apartment has three floors, and we have only seen one? That makes sense, I guess..

Anonymous said...

some boards are claiming this is a hoax, where did you get the photos?

Anonymous said...

anon 6:23. Does it matter whether a bunch of tired boards are in a state of disbelief and confusion over a few pictures? Bloggers and blogs are free to display what they wish. If substantiated facts are necessary, conduct your own research. Really, it's not THAT difficult.

Anonymous said...

I can't help but to LMAO when I see the blatent ignorance of those that sniff around this blog for info, yet are first to criticize Chris's findings. Like a block of CO2 (dry ice), it barely takes a thread of imagination, a touch of recall and a speck of intelligence to realize that Christiane is at the top of her game. Some have it, others don't. The repeat customer gig is a simple rule to follow for continued satisfaction. Add in the fact that those guys were selected to assist in the Katrina ravaged region and it all makes perfect sense. Great find Chris! You're good!!!!!

@ Anon

Are you saying that the guys who helped during Katrina, helped in the design of Anderson's apartment? What, were they architects?

Anonymous said...

Sharla, your sharp, academic mind is way beyond my post! CO2 is, of course, carbon dioxide. However, as Chris knows, the CO2 represents something along the lines of this post. I don't know why I used the dry ice reference. As for the Katrina reference, the masterminds of the sterile environment seen in the photos have been working OT in the "Katrina" area.
Anon 11:11 - what I was saying is that Chris is one smart cookie. Yes to all your questions, except that it's the here and now versus the aftermath.

MediaDoc said...

Thank you very much Anon 10:43, but as you might suspect we shouldn't give more information.

But I truly appreciate your comments :)

Christiane:

Would it be possible to say if Anderson agreed to have the pictures taken by whoever took them? You don't need to say who it was or with what purpose etc. and why or how you got them. Just if Anderson agreed to have the pictures taken. That's all. I know you frankly could care less, and I understand, but people are questioning Anderson's motives or implying he had motives and that is just simply not fair (for him, I mean).

You don't have to reveal your sources, but just letting people know that Anderson din't mind having the pictures taken would really help.

You have every right to extend me an invitation to go to hell.

I have to accept that at first I was psyched about the pictures, but then, given the controversy, I started to doubt, so... I decided that before passing judgement or stating opinions, I would ask you if they were legit.

ellay said...

Sorry, it seems many of us aren't taking time to 'read' the intro...we're in such a rush to see his hot new pad!

It's gorgeous...and yes the dscorators left it a little sterile...but I'm pretty sure that Anderson will make it homey and a little disheveled soon enough :-)

Re: pic of mstr bdrm...couldn't a lil 'ol plssma fit into that niche between the family pics?

Good luck and happy homecoming Anderson...

anonymous 12:22. What I don't get, and please don't infer that I'm talking for Christiane (I'm not), but give the girl some credit. Do you really think anything but a snake in the grass would put pics of Anderson's pad on her blog if they were produced illegally or without his consideration. I don't think so. Think about it for more than a split second... there are a few parties with the ability and allowance to take abode photos.

MediaDoc said...

@anons:
As I said before, the photos are completely legal. And they were taken WITH THE CONSENT of Anderson Cooper for a design feature.

How do you think a professional photographic crew will access his apartment without his knowledge?

Is it not the first time that he have allowed pics taken from his home. First time, I can recall, was when he was still at Channel 1 or ABC News where they took a pic of him working with his laptop on his bed.
In "The Mole Man" article his then apartment was described in detail. In Style had a complete photo spread, we don't know which photos weren't selected, probably they documented the entire apartment and published the most editorially interesting.
Before that, his parents properties were always highly profiled in Magazines, this is something that is not unusual for him nor his family.

So relax, don't torture yourself.

Anonymous said...

First thing I noticed in the photos was something in the master bedroom. Look at the photo on the right on the wall. Isn't that the same pic that was posted here not too long ago, I believe in the upper left or upper right corner of the blog?

Anonymous said...

^^^ I meant on the left. The left picture in the master bedroom by the window.

MediaDoc said...

As far as I am concern no, it haven´t been posted.

Interesting stuff Christiane...the carbon dioxide has magically blown the coop from where it originated. Perhaps someone at the site wanted to temporarily/permanently remove the evidence before it was found by the crazed masses.

Christiane, will do that tonight or tommorow.

Anonymous said...

Christiane, you can't allow affection for a celebrity to blind you to reality. His new apartment is just plain ugly, face it.

Anonymous said...

Creepy, cold and spooky! Looking like a ward for the mentally ill! Not matching Anderson Cooper's personality at all! No wonder he spends more time abroad!

Anonymous said...

In regard to all of the comments about the lack of color in the apartment's design, from what I've heard Anderson's "guests" will be providing plenty of "color."
