Special Comment

I'd like to take this time to say that I agree with Al Franken.

A few years ago, Franken wrote a book called Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot.

Here in Missouri we will be voting on a stem cell research bill in two weeks. We are being bombarded with campaign commercials, as I'm sure the rest of the country is. One of the ads being shown here is of Michael J. Fox, asking voters to support Claire McCaskill, the Democratic nominee for US Senate against the incumbent Jim Talent. McCaskill has said she strongly supports stem cell research. In the ad, Fox says that Talent is against the research and Talent would also like to outlaw the research. As most people know, Fox suffers from Parkinson's disease, just one of the maladies that could be affected or even cured by this research. In the ad you can see that Fox's condition has deteriorated.

Limbaugh responded to the ad on his radio show yesterday and his comments have caused a firestorm.

Here's what Limbaugh had to say in response to the campaign ad:

"...he was either off the medication or he was acting. He is an actor, after all.”

Rush, you are an idiot. A cold, heartless idiot.

MANIFESTO

Don't think for me. Don't assume what I want to hear or read. Give me facts. Give me reasons. But not yours. Bring me debate. Enlighten me. Today, accountability is masked behind anonymity; bylines are hidden by zeros and ones. Everyone publishes; everyone is "in the know." Ethics are non-existent. Speculation is king. The truth is masked and a hostage. Empowered by our minds, WE ARE THE FREAKSPEAKERS!
