Anderson asked and we shall respond!

Hi everyone,
I've been a lousy blogger lately, but I promise I will get my butt back on track. Last night Anderson Cooper asked the audience and his blog readers to suggest a theme song for the
360's presidential race coverage. I submitted an 80s favorite, but would love to hear it from you.

And before the poll, I want to thank all of our visitors for the wild success of our new chat room. It has exceed all of our expectations! And we are very happy you are having fun with it. And I have a full notebook to blog about... if I only had time!

So vote and chat away my friends!

Anderson asked and we will respond!
We are not going to take it - Twisted Sisters
Shout! - Tears for Fear
American Idiot - Green Day
Anything from The Clash
Tiburon - Ruben Blades and Willie Colon
5 minutes - Bonzo goes to Washington
Fight for your right (to Party!) - Beastie Boys
People Have the Power - Patti Smith

Mine was Rhymes and Reasons by John Denver

American Idiot was actually my first choice, until I remembered it had f@g&$t and f#%k in it. So I made another suggestion (not on your list, but yours were all good). Reading all the suggestions was fun, and why am I not surprised that there were a few trying their best to kiss up to what they know Anderson likes, regardless of whether or not it has anything to do with the topic. (And no, this isn't directed at your Clash suggestion, because they *are* relevent). I think you know what I'm saying.

Here is what I just posted or tried to on the 360 blog. Not sure if it'll make it on, but I thought it was kinda funny.

Anderson,
How about "Stars are blind" by Paris err "she who must not be named"?? I mean she's gonna be out of jail soon, maybe she'll come sing it live!!

Seriously though I like the John Mayer "waiting on the world to change"

I had a few suggestions for the debate theme, but what I really want to share is my suggestion for the Republican campaign.

Dead Kennedys would be appropriate -lol. You got to read the lyrics!

Bleed for Me - 1982
Kill the Poor - 1980

Anderson was obviously not concerned with any of that. He played the Scissor Sisters song.

@shay that's a good one!

@anon 6:08 You're right. That'll teach me to try to be all professional! :-)

MANIFESTO

Don't think for me. Don't assume what I want to hear or read. Give me facts. Give me reasons. But not yours. Bring me debate. Enlighten me. Today, accountability is masked behind anonymity; bylines are hidden by zeros and ones. Everyone publishes; everyone is "in the know." Ethics are non-existent. Speculation is king. The truth is masked and a hostage. Empowered by our minds, WE ARE THE FREAKSPEAKERS!
